When I went to my boss at TradeMark Residential and told her that I wanted to start my own business, she was more than supportive. However, it created an issue for them as I was running their HR Department as a Department of one.
The challenge here was creating a streamlined process of a smooth transition from myself as an employee to a Contractor. How could we make this happen? In return, it was a benefit to the company as it gave them a trusted advisor that they already knew and someone that employees knew and already trusted would listen to them and take action on their issues regardless of how small or big. With that, it also saved the company money on replacing this position and allowed for delay in HR (People) functions.
